For the last ten years, Mr. Frenkel has focused his practice on serving the legal needs of the
alternative investment funds industry, and has served as outside counsel to a number of major
($3 Billion +) hedge funds, private equity funds and fund advisors.

Prior to founding of this firm, Mr. Frenkel represented media, telecom, publishing, advertising,
internet, e-commerce, software, technology, service, manufacturing, specialty food and
luxury goods producers, financial service companies, consultancies, and other entities in a
wide variety of corporate, commercial, and financial transactions.  In addition, William
Frenkel has developed a special expertise in cross-border transactions, having counseled
European companies on investing and doing business in the United States, American firms
entering European and Asian markets, and, particularly, having represented Western investors
and traders in emerging market economies.  He has also represented foreign governments in
international trade and investment treaty negotiations with the United States and has acted as
privatization advisor to the U.S. government in the emerging market economies of Eastern
Europe and the former Soviet Union.

Education
Mr. Frenkel has taught law and international business as an adjunct professor at the University
of Maryland, University College, and has acted as guest lecturer at the Columbia University
School of Law.  He is the author of two books and numerous articles on international private
law, foreign investment, and privatization.  He has contributed articles to International
Financial Law Review, International Company and Commercial Law Review, and
International Quarterly among others. He has also contributed chapters to such legal treatises
as Laws of International Trade, Transnational Joint Ventures, The Law of Transnational
Business Transactions, and Privatization in Eastern Europe.

William Frenkel was born in Baku, Azerbaijan (then, part of USSR).  He came to the U.S. at
the age of 15 and settled in New York City where he pursued his higher education.  In the
1990’s, he spent a number of years living and working as an attorney in France, Germany,
Austria, Great Britain, Russia, and Central Asia.  In addition to being a U.S. citizen, Mr.
Frenkel holds an EU passport and can work effectively across national and cultural borders.  
He resides in Westchester County with his wife, Frederique, and their daughter, Lea.
